WHY WE <3 DIGITAL VIDEO SYNTHESIS
Video synthesis allows you to create mind-bending graphics and visual effects manipulation.
CREATE LIVE VIDEO EFFECTS
Learn to create digital visual effects for performances and installations
Trippy visuals and funky video effects are everywhere. From oscillating bits to warping images, color shifts to visual noise, you've seen them all but may not have known these are the products of video synthesis.
This class will guide you through the basics of video synthesis. You will receive hands-on training in Max/Jitter, a programming environment specifically designed for digital video playback, processing, and synthesis.
You will be able to apply the skills you will gain to a wide range of visual applications—interactive visuals for theatre and performance, realtime video and VJ techniques for musicians, and generative video installations.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is designed for visual artists, video artists, VJs, and electronic musicians who would like to create digital visuals for installations and/or live shows.
The class culminates with each student creating their own visual performance or work. Kyle will help you develop and complete your project with hands-on workshopping and in-class experimentation.
Students will have the opportunity to display their work the dadageek student showcase. Check out past showcases here.
